Partnership between Hôtel de Lille and Treillage
Categories : Hotel
During its renovation, the Hotel de Lille called upon many artisans to make the establishment unique. Today, we invite you to discover Treillage, a creative studio.
Hotel de Lille, a design boutique hotel
In continuation with the D'Days and the upcoming Paris Design Week, Hotel de Lille has engaged a Parisian creative studio, Treillage, for the design of its fireplace and courtyard. A key player in the French design world, Treillage reveals through its creations pieces of furniture or architecture that were previously invisible to the public. Thus, the courtyard of the Hotel de Lille is adorned across two floors with a beige and white patterned envelope creating a depth effect, and its fireplace is adorned with a flamboyant golden panel. These two aluminum creations are the work of a duo, Pierre-Alexandre Poulain and Pascal Evain, adorners of facades and urban decor elements. There is also the covering of an entrance pillar to which the current bar is attached.
Pierre Alexandre Poulain and Pascal Evain, the duo from Treillage
Pascal Evain answered a few questions for us about Treillage, their projects, and their collaboration with the Hotel de Lille.
How did the "Treillage" adventure begin?
Pierre Alexandre Poulain is an artist. For over 15 years, he has been creating furniture and decorations in hand-cut steel. The number of projects is increasing, and the clientele is becoming international.
To meet strong demand and allow for larger creations, Pierre Alexandre decided to work in a laser factory. This method also allows for greater motif detail. Another change is the choice of material. Steel, being very heavy and prone to rust, is replaced by aluminum, which offers more possibilities and can also be used for exterior decoration.
As a continuation of these 15 years, Treillage was born from these changes and the association with Pascal Evain.
Which projects for professionals and individuals have most marked the evolution of Treillage?
The first projects carried out for individuals were very significant for Treillage. They required a lot of trust from clients who couldn't rely on previous creations.
The project for the luxury hotel Le Narcisse Blanc also marked a turning point. It involved decorating the elevator shaft across 6 floors, totaling more than 200m2 of decor and 147 unique panels. This project was important as it required a lot of organization in execution and creativity in aesthetics.
What attracted them to the collaboration with the Hotel de Lille?
The collaboration with the Hotel de Lille was Treillage's first contemporary and abstract project, also their first in the hospitality sector.
The challenge? To integrate into a hotel with an already established spirit, an already strong image. The two creations realized are different but coherent and add a finishing touch to the decoration of the premises. The panel on the fireplace is representative of the establishment.
Their objective? "To imagine a decor that perfectly integrates and highlights an existing environment."
