The Carré Rive Gauche "ExtraORdinary" for its 40 years
Categories : Event
On May 18, 2017, the ExtraORdinary event begins, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Carré Rive Gauche. Until June 3, the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district and its galleries will be adorned in gold to celebrate the refinement, prestige, and elegance that Carré defends.
The Carré association, created in 1977, works to promote the galleries and art dealers of the Rive Gauche to unveil their unique places, must-see spots in the international art world.
In the heart of the 7th arrondissement, in the bustling rue de Lille, the Hôtel de Lille joins the celebration with a special evening under the sign of GOLD. Taittinger pop-up bar, special Monsieur and Madame cocktails created by the hotel's mixologist bartender, installation of a beach area in the pedestrianized street are on the agenda for the Carré Rive Gauche evening at the Hôtel de Lille.
It will reach its climax with the happening by Jean de Dreuille, Parisian cabinetmaker and creator, who will customize his habitable egg In'Ove with golden metalworks to make this May 18 a truly extraordinary evening.
Other activities will be offered in the district:
• Various musical animations in the streets of the Carré: classical, lyrical, jazz, and gospel programs
• Outdoor dining
• Invitation to discover the Carré through different thematic routes: the history of art in five stages, a tour presenting curiosities, a journey around marquetry furniture, a tour on painting, a "masterpieces" route of the Decorative Arts, a design tour, a visit around the masterpieces of Ceramics through the centuries, a sculpture tour, a contemporary visit…
• And many other surprises...
